Visit Us

The School of Architecture + Design encourages prospective Architecture, Industrial Design, Interior Design, and Landscape Architecture students to visit us to discover our approach to design education, to find out about the curricula of our academic programs, to meet faculty and students, and to tour the School’s facilities.

The School of Architecture + Design holds information sessions to give prospective undergraduate students and parents a brief overview of what we have to offer. To make a reservation, please use the links below:

  • Fall and Spring Semester Schedule:
    Architecture sessions are offered Monday and Friday each week at 12 noon; Industrial Design, Interior Design, and Landscape Architecture sessions are offered Friday ONLY each week at 12 noon. An appointment is required.

  • Summer Session Schedule:
    Information sessions for all majors will only be held on Fridays at 12 noon during the First and Second Summer Sessions. An appointment is required.

  • Information sessions begin at 12 noon at the School’s main office in 201 Cowgill Hall, located on the plaza behind Burruss Hall on the Virginia Tech campus in Blacksburg, VA.

  • General University Information Sessions and Campus Tours:
    If you are also interested in a general university information session and tour of the Virginia Tech campus, please access the website of the Undergraduate Admissions Office at http://admissions.vt.edu/visit.

Prospective graduate students should contact their program office to schedule an appointment to meet with the program chair and/or a faculty member and to tour the School’s facilities. In addition, the Virginia Tech Graduate School offers campus tours for prospective graduate students (please see http://graduateschool.vt.edu/admissions/visit-us.html).

Please Note: To park on campus on weekdays or during some athletic events, you will need to obtain a visitor parking permit from the Visitor Information Center, 965 Prices Fork Road. (To park at the Visitor Information Center, a parking permit is not required.) Please see http://www.visit.vt.edu/about/about.html.
