Undergraduate Architecture students Emily Bell and Sarah Spanski are among 12 Virginia Tech students invited to present their research at the 29th Annual National Conference on Undergraduate Research, sponsored by the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR). Their abstracts were selected from more than 3,700 submissions. Emily’s paper is entitled “Use of Portable Tuned Mass Dampers for Vibration Control of Pedestrian Bridges,” and Sarah’s paper is entitled “A Guide to Vibration Serviceability for Architects and Architecture Students.” Prof. Mehdi Setareh serves as faculty advisor for both students. The conference will be held April 16-18, 2015, on the campus of Eastern Washington University.
