Smith Creek Park (the Masonic Amphitheatre and Smith Creek Pedestrian Bridge Projects) in Clifton Forge, VA, designed and built by 3rd-year architecture students in the design/buildLAB, led by Keith and Marie Zawistowski, has received one of six 2014 Architecture Honor Awards presented by the Virginia Society of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). The annual Virginia Society AIA Awards for Excellence (also known as the Design Awards) honor the very best design work in Virginia, celebrating projects no older than seven years that contribute to the built environment and are clear examples of thoughtful and engaging design.
