The Kansas City based architecture and industrial design firm KEM Studio conducted a two week multidisciplinary design studio led by its principals Jonathon Kemnitzer, Brad Satterwhite, and Jon Taylor. The twenty students from five disciplines (architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, industrial design, and visual communication) began January 26th and held an exhibition on February 9th in Cowgill Lobby. The purpose was to demonstrate how interdisciplinary collaboration can liberate and invigorate design and design thinking. The students were challenged to examine not only what you think about while you design, but how you think.
