Dr. Casto teaches classes in the history of interiors and in preservation of historic interiors. She has presented research at conferences throughout the United States. Her book, Actors, Audiences, and Historic Theaters of Kentucky won the 2000 Book Award from the Southeast Society of Architectural Historians. She has served as President of the Southeast Society of Architectural Historians and as Book Review Editor for the Vernacular Architecture Forum.
