Gernot Hertl's architecture is an architecture of the sensible phyisio-psychological realm. It is an architecture which strips the superfluous from the space defining masses and planes, clearing the material boundaries of distracting minutiae. One can describe it as an architecture that abstracts the material world to allow the senses unencumbered access to the intended perception of the construct, regardless of scale or arbitrary purpose. A "concrete" architecture, striving for ultimate communication with the beholder without the mediation of concept.
